Everyone wants their first time on Our Teen Life to stand out! Here are some tips to making and sending your first OTL video!
Shooting Tips:
1. Pick something to share with Our Teen Life. We are looking for videos of Everyday Teens doing what they love to do! Teach us something new, show off your talent, interview someone we would all like to meet or show us a cool place! Poems, short stories, teach us to draw, teach us to play instruments, sing to us, show us your mad skating skillz…whatever makes YOUR TEEN LIFE, OUR TEEN LIFE!
2. Know what you want to say before the camera rolls. It is always best to write down what you want to say or do before you ever turn on your camera.
3. Have a helper to hold the camera or have a tripod set up so the camera stays steady.
4. If you are inside try to be in a room with good lighting or have an extra lamp on close to you so we can all see you
5. All edited videos must be shorter than 30 minutes. If you can not edit your own video but think is is awesome stuff, send it in anyway and if it is picked to go on air we will do the editing for you.
Tips to Sending us your video and release forms:
1. If you are shooting your video using a FLIP camera or similar camera that came with it’s own e-mail sharing software use it to send us your videos! Make sure you give us permission to download it!
2. If you do not have a file sharing software you can still try to email your video to us if they are in one of the following formats: avi, wmv, mpg, mpeg, mov, rm, ram, swf, flv, mp4
3. If you are emailing please make sure that your video title is in the subject line of your email and that you also email or mail us your release forms as soon as possible making sure that the email includes your video title or you send along a note with your videos title so we know which forms go with which videos.
4. To email the release forms you must first print them and get every one to sign them and secondly scan them and save them as a PDF file. Then just attach it to your email.
5. If emailing just isn’t working then just save your video onto a thumb/Flash drive or burn it onto a CDR/DVDR and mail it to us along with your release forms. (remember no CDR/DVDR or flash drives will be returned)
